  Not Guilty Plea

KIRKSVILLE, MO -- Not guilty. That was the plea entered Monday morning by Kirksville City Councilman Aaron Rodgerson.

The 34-year-old Kirksville pastor entered the not guilty plea to a misdemeanor charge of failure to report abuse or neglect of a child under the age of 18 as a mandated reporter.


Rodgerson is also charged with unlawfully engaging in the practice of law.

The charges are in connection with the cases of Nathaniel and Elisabeth Burns, also of Kirksville.

The burns' are each charged with one felony count of endangering the welfare of a child.

Rodgerson remains free on his own recognizance. His next court date is August 31.
