A TWISTED priest dubbed "the devil in a dog collar" is facing jail for sex attacks on Roman Catholic schoolboys over 36 YEARS.

Father David Pearce, 67, sated his sick lust on five pupils at a school where he was headmaster.

Astonishingly his final victim was attacked AFTER his superiors had imposed restrictions on him designed to prevent such conduct.

One victim said: "I believe the Church are responsible - they knew what he was up to. Devil in a dog collar sums him up."

Pearce - known in school as Gay Dave - started his warped campaign at St Benedict's School in Ealing, West London, in 1972. It ended last January.

He admitted ten indecent assaults against four boys under 16 and sexually assaulting a fifth.

The assaults involved caning and intimate touching.

Judge Andrew McDowall, at Isleworth Crown Court in West London, told balding Pearce "you should have acknowledged your guilt sooner".

He said a "substantial custodial sentence" was an "overwhelming possibility".

Pearce will be sentenced in October.

Westminster RC diocese said: "Ealing Abbey is deeply saddened by the case."
