MILWAUKEE - The Survivors Network of Those Abused by Priests (SNAP) is planning to hold a news conference today to release "never before seen secret documents" in a new lawsuit against the Archdiocese of Milwaukee.

The lawsuit will officially be filed by a former student of St. John's School of the Deaf, and will claim that the archdiocese knew about a priest's sex crimes and covered them up.

According to SNAP, Father Lawrence Murphy was a pedophile priest who over a 25 year period, sexually assaulted around 200 boys as the director of St. John's School of the Deaf.

The lawsuit will claim the Archdiocese knew about the assaults - which started at least 50 years ago - but did nothing about it.

A person who says they were one of Murphy's deaf victims, Arthur Budzinski, shared his account of overcoming memories of a perverted priest through his daughter.

"He was able to pick up the pieces and move on, but some other victims are really still stuck with it and dealing with the issues," said the daughter.

"I can tell you that, according to this file, this is probably one of the worst pedophile priest cases in the United States," said Peter Isely of SNAP.

SNAP's press conference will be at 1:30 this afternoon at St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Cathedral in Milwaukee.
