The ACES Xavier Educational System and the Catholic Diocese of Green Bay are responding to allegations a former teacher in Appleton possibly molested students.

At least one alleged victim filed a civil lawsuit in Minnesota last February naming Raimond Rose but to date no criminal charges have been filed against Rose.

"We have checked our records and reviewed our yearbooks and find no record of a Brother Raimond Rose," the president of ACES Xavier said in a statement.

Tony Abts went on to say, "We have also contacted alumni from that era, and no one has a recollection of a Brother Raimond Rose."

The diocese also said Rose's religious order, the Christian Brothers, told the diocese it has no record of Rose being assigned to Catholic high school in Appleton.

Monday the Survivors Network of those Abused by Priests (SNAP) said Rose taught at Xavier from 1966 through 1968. SNAP stood by that claim Tuesday.

SNAP provided two articles from the Post-Crescent where Rose is mentioned in connection with activities at Xavier.

In a November 1966 story, it says he assisted in the production of a play. In April 1968 he's mentioned as a member of Xavier's faculty basketball team.

The group said Rose taught in Appleton then Stevens Point then several schools in Minnesota, California, and North Dakota.

Rose is now retired and living in Chicago.
