Charles Carfrey

BUCKEYE, AZ -- A Buckeye pastor who pleaded guilty last month to sexual conduct with a minor has been sentenced to two years in prison.

Prosecutors say 59-year-old Charles Carfrey also received lifetime probation under a plea deal Tuesday in Maricopa County Superior Court.

Carfrey was the pastor of the Lord's House Church in Buckeye.

He has been in custody since March when police arrested him on suspicion of sexually abusing several women during counseling sessions in 2004 and 2005 including a girl who was 17 at the time.

Buckeye police started investigating Carfrey in 2005 when one alleged victim came forward, but police were unable to gather enough evidence to arrest him.

Police say the case was reopened in February when detectives obtained evidence that there were more victims.
