Almost 30-years after he was allegedly molested by a priest, a Berkshire County man is breaking his silence and hoping to help other people in similar situations. The man filed a lawsuit claiming church hierarchy did nothing to stop the abuse.

Andrew Nicastro said he was molested by Former priest Alfred Graves at St. Patrick's Parish in Williamstown from the time he was 11 yeas old to the time he was 13 years old. He claims former bishops Joesph Mcguire and Thomas Dupre, along with Monsignor Richard Sniezyk knew Graves was sexually molesting other children and did nothing about it.

"I was betrayed by the church, " Nicastro said.

Graves, who has been named an abuser in other suits, was defrocked by the Vatican in 2006. Nicastro is trying to extract justice from Grave's supervisors.

"The fact that they did nothing to stop it is disgusting, " Nicastro said.

Nicastro's lawyer said this case is different from any other because it involves Dupre, who is an accused molester himself. As for Former Bishop Mcguire, he retired in 1992, and most recently was honored by the Springfield Police Department for his dedication.

The Springfield Diocese is not named in the lawsuit and had no comment on the allegations.
