The Southern African Methodist group has confirmed that the term of Bishop Paul Verryn at the Central Methodist Church will conclude at the end of the year.

The organisation has met in KwaZulu-Natal where one of the issues discussed was the alleged abuse at the church, located in Johannesburg.

Last week, Eyewitness News revealed fresh allegations of sexual abuse at the house of worship.

“We strongly condemn any neglect, exploitation or abuse of children and call upon every member of our church to work even harder to build a society that nurtures and defends all children, especially those at risk,” the organisations Bongi Moyo-Bango said.
