The RCMP has seized three computers from the residences and office of a former Nova Scotia bishop facing child pornography charges in Ottawa.

Bishop Raymond Lahey is facing charges of possession and importation of child pornography.

The Mounties say the searches were conducted as a result of information obtained by the Ottawa Police Service, and a follow-up investigation in Nova Scotia.

Sgt. Brigdit Leger says a computer was seized in the search of a Sydney apartment, while two computers were seized in Antigonish during a search of a home and office.

The RCMP insists the searches are related to the Ottawa Police investigation and the original charges.

A judge granted a request from the 69-year-old Lahey to live in Ottawa until his trial begins.
