Archbishop Gregory Aymond says he will meet with an advocacy group for victims of sexual abuse by preists.

New Orleans - Archbishop Gregory Aymond said Wednesday afternoon that he will respond directly to a group which advocates for people who were sexually abused by Catholic priests.

Archdiocese spokeswoman Sarah Comiskey said Aymond is willing to meet with members of S.N.A.P, the Survivors Network Of Those Abused By Priests.

SNAP is demanding that Aymond go public with the names of those accused of abuse years ago at Madonna Manor and Hope Haven, facilities which took in the young as part of programs run by Catholic Charities.

Mike Kuczynski, an abuse victim himself, and a member of SNAP said it would be cowardly of Aymond not to release the names. He said if Aymond does not give in, then their group will release the names it has.

"I have in the files on my laptop computer all of the names of all of those who have been accused. If Archbishop Aymond does not make those names public immediately, SNAP will do so in a news conference in front of the archdiocesan offices, then the Archbishop can come out and tell us which of the names on that list are credibly accused perpetrators and which of those are the names of innocent individuals."

SNAPS's demands come after Aymond announced a $5 million dollar settlement with 20 alleged victims.

Aymond said, "I think its called sin that people are given positions of trust and authority, and because of sin and evil they take advantage of that."
