ALBANY -- A veteran Roman Catholic priest has been placed on administrative leave for allegedly sexually abusing a teen about 27 years ago, the Roman Catholic Diocese of Albany said.
The decision to put the Rev. Salvatore "Sam" Rodino, 58, on administrative leave follows a recommendation by its sexual misconduct review board. Rodino has been pastor at St. Jude the Apostle in Wynantskill since 2005, His removal is being announced at weekend Masses at St. Jude's and other parishes in which he served: St. Bonaventure in Speigletown, St. Pius X in Loudonville and St. Margaret Mary's in Albany.
Rodino has professed innocence.
