The bishop for the Northern Alaska Diocese has filed an amended plan for financial reorganization.

ANCHORAGE, Alaska -- The Catholic Bishop of Northern Alaska has filed an amended plan for reorganization with the federal bankruptcy court.

In an attempt to resolve the claims filed by victims of sexual abuse, the revised plan reflects a new funding structure that would provide $11 million to victims and creditors.

The new revision was prompted by September court rulings.

Last month federal bankruptcy Judge Donald McDonald ruled there was insufficient evidence to force a key insurance company to participate in the plan.

The bishop originally filed for reorganization in March of 2008.

Since then almost 300 individuals have made claims against the diocese.

The diocese hopes to see the newly amended plan confirmed early in 2009.
