A priest in the Diocese of Scranton has been relieved of his duties after pictures of "minimally attired adult men" were seen on his computer, according to the diocese.

Reverend Edward Lyman oversaw three parishes in Throop, St. Bridget's, St. Anthony's and St. John the Baptist. According to diocesan spokesman Bill Genello, Father Lyman was going to use a computer for information about the diocesan appeal during Mass on October 25 when the four pictures were shown. The incident happened before Mass.

Genello said a parishioner notified the diocese and Fr. Lyman was relieved of his duties and placed on administrative leave. He added Fr. Lyman is "receiving appropriate care."

The diocese added the pictures were not pornographic and did not involve minors and were not taken by Fr. Lyman.
