D'Arcy. Bishop Kevin C. Rhoades of the Diocese of Harrisburg in Pennsylvania will take over, according to the statement. Roman Catholic Church law requires that when a bishop reaches age 75, he must offer a letter of resignation to the pope. D'Arcy eclipsed that milestone Aug. 18, 2007.
