	Fifteen-minute Hug Shocked Lourdes Group By John Cooney Irish Independent November 28, 2009 http://www.independent.ie/national-news/fifteenminute-hug-shocked--lourdes-group-1956997.html A priest engaged in a 15-minute hug with a young adult that scandalised vulnerable youngsters with mental disabilities during the Dublin diocesan pilgrimage to Lourdes. The "inappropriate behaviour" of Fr Magnus, a pseudonym for the cleric, who also was seen chatting up another young adult in a Lourdes bar, was investigated by the Murphy commission. The report concluded that Fr Magnus's hug was witnessed by other priests who were shocked, and were fearful of its impact on emotionally vulnerable pilgrims. In the course of its investigation, a young adult told the commission that he had a relationship with Fr Magnus, which started in 1978 and continued until 2003. The commission noted there was no complaint of sexual abuse against Fr Magnus known to it.
