OTTAWA — The case of a Roman Catholic bishop facing child pornography charges has been put off again until Feb. 3, when he's expected to enter a plea.

Raymond Lahey was charged in September with possessing and importing child pornography -- 10 days after being detained by customs officers at the Ottawa airport after arriving on a flight from Britain.

He did not appear in court on Wednesday morning.

Lawyers from both sides will meet with privately a judge on Jan. 26 to map out a hearing process.

Police say they found hundreds of files and dozens of videos on Lahey's laptop, many of them showing young males engaged in sex acts.

The 69-year-old Lahey -- who stepped down as bishop of Antigonish, N.S. -- has been staying with other priests in Ottawa since being granted bail Oct. 1.
