NEW YORK -- The Diocese of Rochester offers its thanks to the members of the Irondequoit

Pastoral Planning Group for their dedication, perseverance and leadership in this

long process that involved many challenges and very difficult decisions.

Out of respect for the work of the committee, diocesan officials are withholding all further comment on the IPPG recommendations until completion of the next phase in the Pastoral Planning process:

1. The IPPG now will formally provide Bishop Clark with its recommendations;

2. The Bishop will review the IPPG plan in consultation with his diocesan Priests Council of advisers;

3. Bishop Clark will render a final decision. As has always been the case in the diocesanwide Pastoral Planning process, the Bishop can accept or reject any plan as it was submitted to him, or ask for additional information and/or modifications.

This process of careful review is expected, as is normal, to take several weeks or more.
