	Priest Sex Abuse Sentence Delayed ABC News February 5, 2010 http://www.abc.net.au/news/stories/2010/02/05/2811371.htm AUSTRALIA -- A Sydney court has heard a former Catholic priest plans to withdraw his guilty plea to some of the sexual abuse charges brought against him by former students. In December, John Sidney Denham pleaded guilty to 29 child sex offences dating back to the 70s. Police say his victims were mostly boys at Newcastle Catholic High. At least 27 of the men have taken class action against him. The case was set down for sentence today and many of the complainants travelled from the Hunter Valley to the Downing Centre Local Court today with their wives and partners. But his lawyer has indicated the accused wants to change his plea to not guilty on some of the charges, it's not clear how many. The matter has been adjourned for six weeks.
