BRENTWOOD, ANN T. - 71, passed away, January 28, 2010, at Blount Memorial Transitional Care Center, Maryville. Ann is survived by a daughter, Jennie Freed (Clyde); granddaughters Kaitlyn, Lindsey and grandson Jacob; brother Tom Wills; and nephew Jason Wills. Ann graduated from Murray State University in Psychology and Nursing and received her MSN, Nursing from the University of Evansville. Ann had an extensive professional background. She was Director of Nursing and Vice-President of Hospital Operations at the Regional Medical Center in Madisonville, Kentucky. She retired from RMC after 25 years of service and moved to her beloved Bluff Mountain home near Sevierville. Ann was an advisor, a source of comfort, and an inspiration to everyone she met. Her work with the SNAP organization as Southeastern Director was tireless. Her passion for the cause brought solace to victims, comfort to families, and broader insight to all. She was an advocate for changes in laws to protect abused children and youth. Indicative of her spirit, Ann has donated her body to medical research. There will be a celebration of life in the spring. Time and location to be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to SNAP, P.O. Box 6416, Chicago, IL, 60680.
