CLARENDON COUNTY, SC (WIS) - A Pamplico man is charged with sexually assaulting two teens at a group home, one of two Midlands religious workers to be arrested in as many days for such a crime.

The Clarendon County Sheriff's Office says Arley Atchley was a counselor at the Free Will Baptist Home for Children in Turbeville.

Atchley was arrested Thursday, accused of sexually abusing 14- and 17-year-old residents of the home over the last five years.

The South Carolina Association of Free Will Baptists website lists Arley Atchley as the pastor of New Prospect Free Will Baptist Church in Pamplico.

Atchley is charged with two counts of second-degree criminal sexual conduct with a minor. His bond was set at $20,000 surety.

Atchley is not the only religious worker to be recently charged with sexually abusing teens. Eric Vancleave, a former substitute teacher and member of Pavilion Ministries in Cayce, was charged on Friday with molesting four boys between the ages of 10 and 17.
