  Janitor Pleads Not Guilty in Chatham Priest Slaying

Jose Feliciano, the 64 year-old janitor charged in the stabbing death of Rev. Edward Hinds, 61, pleaded not guilty Wednesday morning during proceedings in Superior Court in Morristown.

Feliciano was charged with the stabbing death of Hinds, who was found dead from multiple stab wounds in the kitchen of the St. Patrick's Church rectory in Chatham on the morning of Oct. 23. Feliciano was arrested by police on murder and robbery charges at his Easton, Pa., home on Saturday, Oct. 24.

Feliciano is charged with two counts of murder, a first degree crime, robbery, three counts of the use of a deadly weapon for unlawful purposes and possession of a deadly weapon, a knife. A grand jury indicted Feliciano on those charges in January.

Feliciano is being held in Morris County Jail on $1 million bail.
