CAMDEN--A Camden Diocese priest, who served in several South Jersey parishes, has been removed from ministry after an allegation of sexual abuse of a minor.

Father Brendan V. Sullivan, 75, who resides in Northfield, was permanently removed on February 23rd after a man reported to the diocese that Sullivan sexually abused him in 1981 when he was just 14 years-old.

Sullivan served in 10 South Jersey parishes beginning in 1960, including Blessed Sacrament in Margate, St. Elizabeth Ann Seton in Absecon, and St. James in Ventnor where he retired in 2004.

He was also principal of Holy Spirit High School in Absecon from 1973 to 1978.

Sullivan was serving at Assumption Church in Atco at the time of the incident, however the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office is handling the matter since that is where the alleged abuse occurred.

The diocese has not received any other allegation of sexual abuse again Sullivan.
