FRANKLIN (IN) -- A former minister will be sentenced April 8 to 10 years in prison for sexual misconduct with a minor and child solicitation, if a Johnson Circuit Court judge accepts his plea agreement with prosecutors on those charges.

Daniel Moore, 50, former New Whiteland Baptist Church pastor, entered his agreement to plead guilty to the two felonies in court Thursday.

Moore was arrested in April 2009 on the charges he had a sexual relationship with a 15-year-old member of the congregation.

On March 28, 2009, an informant told police Moore may have had a sexual relationship with the girl. Police then investigated a series of events from January through March 2009, leading to the charges, authorities said.

Under the plea agreement, set to be acted on at 9 a.m. by Judge K. Mark Loyd cq, Moore agrees to the 10-year prison term, registering as a sex offender and seeking treatment while in prison.
