The gay sex scandal involved two Vatican officials – a choir singer (Ghinedu Ehiem) and a civil engineer (Angelo Balducci) who is also a papal usher. The prosecutors have taped their conversations for over a year, and believe that they were an integral part of a network of gay prostitution. In the tapes, both are heard discussing the various types of men, that they can procure for the prostitution network. Ghinedu Ehiem is heard describing the physiques of the various men to Angelo. "I have a situation from Naples," Ghinedu Ehiem says in one conversation, according to a newspaper. "I have a situation from Cuba," he says in another, continuing with "a German who just arrived from Germany," "two black guys," "the soccer player" and "the dancer for the RAI". All these details emerged when a group of 4 people were arrested last month for corruption. Angelo was also a part of his corruption racket, as he is a member of the Italy's public works department. He was also arrested on corruption charges, and perhaps in view of the corruption charges his phone lines were tapped, which led to the scandalous disclosures about the kind of men he preferred.
