VATICAN CITY -- The Vatican's chief exorcist Father Gabriele Amorth has claimed that Satan attacked the Pope himself!

Amorth has freed more than 70,000 demoniacs from Satan and demons.
And according to Italian newspaper 'La Repubblica', the priest has now warned "The Devil lives even in the Vatican!"
Amorth (85) said that there are "Cardinals who do not believe in Jesus and bishops who are linked to the demon". He also claimed that "violence and paedophilia" committed by Catholic priests was the work of the Devil.
The chief exorcist also spoke of an attack by Satan on Pope Benedict XVI (82): "The Pope fought with the Devil on Christmas Eve. Satan threw him to the ground."
He was referring to an incident where Pope Benedict was attacked and pulled to the floor by a mentally unstable woman. After the attack the Pontiff continued with Christmas Mass.
