IRELAND -- The Taoiseach says it's a matter for the Church to decide on the future of Cardinal Seán Brady.

Despite mounting pressure, the Catholic Primate of All-Ireland is refusing calls to resign after weekend revelations that in 1975 as a priest, he interviewed two of Brendan Smyth's victims who were asked to take an oath of secrecy.

Speaking in California during on a trade mission, Brian Cowen, who's now in Washington, refused to say if he believed Cardinal Brady should remain in office saying it was a matter for the church to deal with its own internal problems.
