INDIA -- BENGALURU: Yet another alleged sleaze involving a godman has surfaced in the city.

Even as devotees of godman Nityanand Swami have yet to come to terms with the sex video scandal, priest of the St. Peter and Paul Church Arokia Das in the city has been accused of having sexual relationship with a cook.

Police had to intervene to prevent a protest from turning ugly. According to the police, three church goers identified as Johnson, Anto and Jaikodi, tried to assault the father in full public view.

Police detained the three but soon crowds gathered at the church demanding action against the priest on charges of immorality. Police had a word with Father Das and asked him to send the cook away in order to prevent further violence.

Police had to summon the president of the Karnataka Tamil Catholic People's Voice John Kennedy to pacify the protestors. Locals said Father Das had been having an affair with the cook and despite warnings he had continued to maintain a clandestine relationship.

Father Das has denied the charge and said he had become a victim of a dispute.

Police said that five shops belonging to the church had been rented out to the family of the accused and they had been asked to vacate.
