Papal Miseries Due to Same Mistakes

How is it that a person can remain loyal to a religious institution that has been responsible for the sexual abuse of more than 10,000 children? How can a person remain loyal to a religious institution whose leaders go to great lengths to hide this from the public? How can these leaders let the same people molest children repeatedly and repeatedly?

In 2002, John Jay compiled a report of on the extent of sexual maltreatment perpetrated by the Catholic priesthood. It ruled out the study of some 3300 cases because the priests involved were already dead, but they found enough evidence to substantiate allegations of sexual abuse in 6700 of the remaining 7700 cases. These cases involve 4392 different priests and these numbers are for the U.S. alone.

In the 90s, the Vatican has called it the “American problem” that it was limited to the U.S., and it was mainly due to our lack of morals. But hold the phone Leroy! Recently that has changed dramatically with new cases popping up all over the globe, people saying that a priest molested them. In Australia, Austria, Germany, France and Switzerland there are more and more abuse victims coming forward to tell their story.

The fact is that there are many that we will never know about. The ones who are so embarrassed that they cannot come forward and many of the ones that were conned into signing an agreement to never talk about it, and in return the church would vow to dismiss the priest.

In reality, all they would do is transfer the priest to another diocese and put them right back to working with children. This was not just 30 years ago in the U.S. but also in Australia, Germany and Ireland in recent history; since the diocese in Boston was exposed.

These noble men of virtue and knowledge, these men of god are nothing more than the lowest form of scum. They spend their lives destroying children or they spend their life as an enabler for those who do. What kind of person does it take to perform such an act of evil, and what is probably even worse is who could knowingly put them in a position to do it again.

Please do not misunderstand, there are many good men in the priesthood, but those men need to do something. Either they need to take back the church from those who are poised to destroy her, or they need to pack their stuff and get out because if they stay with the church and do nothing, then they are guilty by association.

Of the 4392 priests that the Catholic Church felt that there was enough evidence to substantiate the claims, only 254 of those priests ever went to court, and of those 254 only 143 were convicted. The reason that they have not been brought to justice is that the Papal hierarchy has been protecting them for the last 25 years (or more).

These priests are not irreplaceable to the church, quite the opposite the hierarchy wants to keep them out of the public eye, and keeping them in the fold is the only way to do that. The church feels that the reputation and sanctity of the church is far more important than the lives that have been destroyed by the church.

Please do not misunderstand me, I have nothing against Catholicism and as I said before, there are a lot of good men and women in the Catholic Church.

The problem with the Catholic Church is it is a restricted society that has very little transparencey to the rest of the world. They say light is the best disinfectant, but without that transparency, the light does not get in, and what you have is a very corruptible system government. A government that was corrupted in 400 a.d., the 11th and 14th centuries and a government that is corrupt now and will be until they change their system of leadership.

The sad part is that in the last 30 years the Catholic Church has learned nothing from the mistakes of its past. Not only is it making new mistakes, but also the church seems to be determined to make the same mistakes that it has made in the past.

Trying to cover up their mistakes, rather than dealing with the problems trying to color their own backsides rather than insure the well-being of the children that they are supposed to protect. Showing them the true nature of evil when it is your job to bring them into the light, and to teach them how to hate rather than to show them love.

It is amazing to me that anyone could profess that they are here to show us the light in the world, while at the same time they perpetrate uncontainable evil. If they represent the virtuous in the world and evil is the opposite of that. We need more evil in this world.
