Brooklyn Supreme Court Justice Patricia M. DiMango sentenced Rabbi Lebovits to the maximum term in prison.

A Brooklyn judge sentenced a Brooklyn rabbi to the maximum term in prison Monday, where the pederast will possibly spend the rest of his life behind bars.

In March, Baruch Lebovits, 59, was convicted of sexually abusing a 16-year-old boy on eight occasions in 2004 and 2005.

Monday Kings County Supreme Court Justice Patricia Di Mango sentenced Lebovits to the maximum term of one-and-a-third to four years for each count of criminal sex act in the third degree, terms which will run consecutively, making the full sentence 10-and-two-thirds to 32 years.

The victim knew Lebovits as a rabbi and prominent businessman in the Borough Park community, where they both lived. Lebovits’ defense attorney Arthur Aidala had claimed the victim, who had a criminal record, was trying to extort Lebvovits.

At sentencing Monday, Lebovits claimed he had been molested as a child and has a gambling problem. Lebovits is also charged in two other cases of sexual assaults on minors. Those cases are pending.
