The Roman Catholic Church in Denmark says it has started an investigation of one of its priests after a second person accused him of sexual abuse.

Church spokesman Niels Engelbrecht told local news agency Ritzau the church hasn't decided if the priest will be allowed to keep working during the investigation.

A former altar boy on Friday told newspaper Berlingske Tidende that he had been abused by the priest 30 years ago. Engelbrecht on Sunday told Ritzau a second person has come forward with accusations against the same person, but declined to give more details.

The priest has denied the allegations.

Danish police previously said they would review 17 cases, mostly from the 1960s and '70s, that the church had not reported to authorities.
