BOSTON (AP/1010 WINS) -- A prominent former New York City basketball coach has pleaded not guilty to charges of raping a 14-year-old during a trip to Boston in 1976 to see a Red Sox-Yankees doubleheader.

Bob Oliva was arraigned in Suffolk Superior Court and released after posting $10,000 bail. He was ordered to have no contact with the alleged victim, Jimmy Carlino, and no contact with any children under 16 while he awaits trial.

The 65-year-old Oliva won five city championships in 27 seasons at Christ the King Regional High School, where he coached future NBA players such as Lamar Odom.

Oliva's attorney, Michael Doolin, says his client is looking forward to his day in court.

Carlino's attorney, Mitchell Garabedian, says his client plans to testify at the trial to reveal the truth about what happened.
