MADISON (WKOW) -- Victims of child sex abuse want to know why the legislature isn't acting on the child victims' act.

The bill is held up in the state Senate Judiciary Committee and likely won't make it to the floor this session.

The Child Victims Act lifts the statue of limitations on sex abuse cases.

Survivors of sexual abuse, including survivors from the Saint John's School of the Deaf, were at the Capitol petitioning for the bill.

Last month, a sex scandal was exposed that linked Reverend Lawrence Murphy to the sexual abuse of some 200 boys at Saint John's school decades ago
