	Top British Prelate May Sue Newspaper over Abuse Claim Catholic Culture April 15, 2010 http://www.catholicculture.org/news/headlines/index.cfm?storyid=6041 Archbishop Vincent Nichols of Westminster may file a defamation suit against the London Times, responding to the newspaper's claim that he had protected a pedophile priest. A spokesman for the archbishop said that he is "taking legal advice" about the proper response to the Times story. Pointing out that the priest cited by the Times was working in London, at a time when Archbishop Nichols headed the Birmingham archdiocese, the spokesman said that the archbishop was not involved in the case, and the charge against him was "completely unfounded and is an unwarranted slur."
