Durban - A bishop from the National Christian Assemblies of God is on trial in the Harding Magistrate's Court on a string of sexual harassment charges, Isolezwe newspaper reported on Thursday.

Sandile Christopher Ndlovu was accused of sexually harassing female members of his church, some as young as 14-years-old and some who were married, the paper reported.

On Wednesday State prosecutor BN Mthwana called the father of a 14-year-old girl, who was allegedly harassed by Ndlovu, to give evidence.

The witness said when his daughter was allegedly harassed, he was working under Ndlovu as a priest at his church.

Lists of victims

The victim's father said they had met other church leaders to convince Ndlovu to write a list of all his victims.

The witness said he asked Ndlovu to write two separate lists - one of the young victims and one of the married women.

The witness said Ndlovu had agreed to write the list and asked what he needed to do to fix things between him and church members.

Church leaders concluded that Ndlovu should pay R300 000 to be given to those he had allegedly harassed.

The witness said Ndlovu had signed a letter of agreement on what had been discussed. He said he would pay the money on July 25 2007.

Ndlovu had, to this day, failed to meet the terms of the agreement, the court heard.

The trial continues on Thursday.
