Former television reporter Anne Steffens, now pufflicist for the Archdiocese of St. Louis, has shot out a missive to area priests about the Vianney Renewal Center aired this week by KSDK, Channel 5. The story, helmed by Channel 5's Leisa Zigman, reveals activities at the Vianney Renewal Center in Dittmer, Mo., a treatment center for priests and is run by the Servants of the Paracete. Steffens scribed, "The story that aired is different than the story that appears in text online (lzigman@ksdk.com) and the reporter has a bias and made many fact errors." In the missive, Steffens asks priests – "if you are so inclined" – to contact Zigman and news director Mike Shipley (mshipley@ksdk.com) to share with them their thoughts about the story. Steffens concluded, "The good news out of this is that KSDK's 10 p.m. newscast. . .came in second to KMOV's 10 p.m. newscast." For the record, Stephens once was education reporter for KMOV.
