  Second Man Charged with St Ives Sex Assault from the '70s

A SECOND man will appear in court later this month charged over the alleged sexual assault of a teenage boy 33 years ago at St Ives.

Hornsby Police started an investigation in October 2009 into allegations that a former church youth group leader had attended the home of a 13-year-old Pymble boy and allegedly sexually assaulted him in late 1981.

A man, 57, of North Sydney arrested in late 2009 and charged with buggery. He was granted bail and will appear at Sydney District Court on Monday.

A second North Sydney man, also 57, was last week charged with one count of indecent assault and three charges of buggery.

He was granted conditional bail and will appear at Hornsby Court on May 26.

Police have formed Strike Force Osmond to investigate sexual abuse allegations at the St Ives-based church youth group in the late 1970s and early 1980s.Hornsby Police: 94769799.
