The Roane County trial of a Cincinnati priest charged with sexual assault and abuse has been moved to August 30th. The Rev. Robert Poandl was originally set go on trial next Tuesday, June 15.

Poandl is accused of sexually abusing a boy back in 1991. The alleged victim, now 28, was 10-years-old at the time. Poandl was a family friend and the boy had traveled to the Holy Redeemer Catholic Church Rectory in Spencer to visit the priest. Poandl was temporarily assigned there at the time.

The alleged victim decided to come forward with the allegations earlier this year.

Poandl is free on bond. However, he is not allowed to perform any duties as a Catholic priest.
