(NECN: Braintree, Mass.) - The faculties of Rev. Gabriel Michel to perform public ministry in the Archdiocese of Boston have been revoked, stemming from allegations of adult sexual misconduct.

The announcement was made on Sunday. Fr. Michel, a priest of the Archdiocese of Cap-Haitien in Haiti, served in the Boston Archdiocese since 2002. His most recent assignment was that of parochial vicar at St. Angela's Parish in Mattapan, as well as coordinator of the Archdiocese of Boston's Haitian Apostolate. In the past, he served as a chaplain at Mass. General Hospital.
