BOSTON -- Two Boston-area priests were under scrutiny Sunday after allegations of financial impropriety by one and sexual misconduct by another.

Rev. Keith P. Leblanc has resigned as pastor of Saint John the Baptist Parish in Haverhill, the Archdiocese of Boston said in a statement.

"The Archdiocese and parish are cooperating with law enforcement on an investigation of a financial nature," the statement said.

The Archdiocese also announced the revocation of Rev. Gabriel Michel's permission to perform his public ministry after receiving allegations of adult sexual misconduct.

Michel, a priest of the Archdiocese of Cap-Haitien in Haiti, has served in the Archdiocese of Boston since 2002, most recently as parochial vicar at St. Angela's Parish in Mattapan. Michel also has served as a chaplain at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston.
