LAWRENCE, Kan. (AP) — A newspaper report says that Kansas Catholic dioceses are still keeping information about abusive priests from the public.

The Lawrence Journal-World reported Wednesday that its two-year investigation with local cable television's 6News found several dozen cases of alleged sexual abuse by priests, stretching back to the 1950s.

But the newspaper also says it was unable to determine the extent of the problem because church officials in Kansas provided only limited information.

That's despite 2002 reforms by the church promising to be open and transparent with the public about sexual abuse.
