National Survivor Advocates Coalition:

A Sad Day When Justice Winks Under Her Blindfold

National Survivor Advocates Coalition Statement on Swiss Decision Not To Extradite Roman Polanski to the United States:

Any day that a Justice Ministry fails to act both in the particular and in general to protect children instead of child perpetrators is a sad day. Today is one of those days.

Switzerland's Justice of Ministry's in making the decision not to grant the United States' request for extradition for Roman Polanski said the US had failed to provide the records of a Los Angeles County Superior Court hearing. The Polanski case is hardly low profile. It strains credulity that this is a paperwork snafu.

The Swiss also based their decision on Polanski traveling to Switzerland in " good faith" that there would be legal disadvantages for him. We look forward to a day when all children can travel in the good faith that they will be protected from child perpetrators but that day's coming was dealt a serious set back today.

Unfortunately, when those who are in public eye because of fame and fortune or authority positions do not face the consequences of their actions, a strong signal is sent that justice is winking under her blindfold.
