Mark Campobello

Former Geneva priest Mark Campobello is living in Crystal Lake again, according the Illinois Sex Offender registry.

Campobello, 45, was released from Logan Correctional Center in Lincoln last week after serving about 16 months on a parole violation.

The registry identified him Saturday as a "compliant" sexual predator.

Campobello pleaded guilty in 2004 to molesting two girls, ages 14 and 15, at St. Peter Catholic Church in Geneva and Aurora Central Catholic High School in 1999 and 2000, respectively. He was later expelled by the Vatican.

In February 2008, after about serving 31/2 years in prison, Campobello moved to the 4600 block of the same Crystal Lake address where he is living today.

He returned that address again in April 2008, after serving about three months on a parole violation.

And Campobello continued to live there until authorities said he lost approval for the housing in April 2009, and he went back to prison.
