	Woman Reports Being Raped in Church by 18-year-old Man By Allison Petty The Herald-Review August 6, 2010 http://www.herald-review.com/news/local/article_642b084a-b001-5eb3-a45f-76c77c99b89f.html An 18-year-old man is in custody after he allegedly sexually assaulted a woman in a Decatur church. The woman reported to Decatur police about 12:45 p.m. Tuesday that she had been sexually assaulted, according to a sworn statement signed by a police officer. She told police that she and the man were helping at the church. The man asked her to help him look for some items, so she followed him into the choir room. When they entered, the man walked behind some filing cabinets and the woman lost sight of him. She went into a smaller adjacent room to look for him, and the man appeared and locked the door behind her, the statement said. The man grabbed the woman by the arm and pulled her behind filing cabinets, out of sight of anyone coming into the room. He then began to kiss her and pull her pants down. The woman told police she struggled but was unable to pull her pants back up as the man grabbed her and pushed her to the floor. The man then forced sexual intercourse on the woman, who said it lasted about 10 minutes, according to the statement. He instructed her not to tell anyone. Police found two drops of blood on the floor of the room where the incident allegedly occurred. The woman said the blood was hers. She identified the man in a photo lineup. He was arrested about 6 p.m. Wednesday. The man already is facing charges of criminal sexual abuse in Macon County for allegedly assaulting a 17-year-old. He is scheduled to appear in court Aug. 24 on those charges, which were filed in June 2009. He was Macon County Jail in lieu of $100,000 bond.
