  Florida Fugitive Arrested in Anderson Co. on Child Sex Charges

CLINTON, Tenn. (WVLT) -- A fugitive wanted out of Florida on child sex charges is in jail in Anderson County, the Anderson County Sheriff's Office says.

Deputies arrested John Raymond Currie, 63, was arrested at a home on Cook Lane in Andersonville, Thursday. Knoxville Police Department's Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force assisted in the arrest.

Deputies say Currie is facing charges of Sexual Battery of a Child Under 12 by a Person in a Position of Familial or Custodial Authority and Lewd or Lascivious Molestation Upon a Child Under 12.

ACSO is investigating whether Currie committed any crimes while in Anderson County. It's not clear how long he has been in Tennessee.
