A 48-year-old St. Louis County man is accused of molesting a four-year-old girl he was babysitting.
Last Friday, prosecutors issued warrants on Terry McDowell of the 9200 block of Alpine Drive. He is charged with one count of first degree child molestation and is in jail under $50,000 bond.
Police began their investigation into McDowell's alleged crime on Monday, May 17 when detectives got a hotline referral from the
Missouri Department of Social Services - Jefferson County Children's Division.
The victim, who lives in Jefferson County, reported that between January and May of 2010, the suspect, a trusted family friend, had touched her inappropriately while she was alone with him at his home. The suspect and his wife have been babysitting the child for the last two years.
At this time, the St. Louis County Police are asking that anyone who believes they may have been a victim of a sexual crime by Terry L. McDowell or anyone else to call 314-889-2341.
