Today, Peoria's bishop wins and Peoria parents and parishioners lose. Secrecy protects only those who commit or conceal child sex crimes. It hurts victims and endangers kids. It leaves parents in the dark about information that could be used to safeguard their kids. We're very sad that once again, as they have been for decades, parishioners and the public are being kept in the dark while corrupt church officials are being protected.
