A federal judge today dismissed a lawsuit by a woman who claimed a priest at a Brockport church sexually harassed her.

The Roman Catholic priest, the Rev. Peter Enyan-Boadu, was acquitted in 2007 of misdemeanor criminal charges that were the offspring of allegations by the woman, who accused him of forcible touching.

The woman sued the priest and the Diocese of Rochester, which employed her.

She contended that the diocese did not protect her from harassment.

In a particularly strong ruling released today, U.S. District Judge Charles Siragusa wrote that “sham evidence” was recently submitted in the civil suit, namely allegations made by the woman that ran counter to earlier statements.

The woman can still seek action in state court on part of her claim, but Siragusa noted that she has 30 days to do so.
