A Roman Catholic priest at the centre of a sexual abuse scandal is now facing three additional charges in Toronto.

Rev. William Hodgson Marshall was charged with three counts of indecent assault Thursday in Toronto. Police wouldn’t say when the alleged incidents occurred or whether the alleged victims were students of the Basilian priest.

Last month, Marshall was charged with two counts of indecent assault stemming from an alleged incident in 1953, when the priest was teaching and coaching basketball at St. Michael’s College School in Toronto. A former student alleges Marshall asked the boy, then 15, to go into a private room, where he was then sexually assaulted.

Marshall is also facing charges of sexual assault and indecent assault in Windsor for incidents alleged to have occurred in the ’50s and ’80s.

The priest taught at schools in Toronto, Sudbury, Sault Ste. Marie and Windsor, where he later became principal of Holy Names high school. Marshall, 88, now lives in a home for retired priests in Toronto.
