A former South Florida priest awaiting trial on sex abuse charges for allegedly molesting and sexually assaulting a number of young boys is in trouble with the law again.
Neil Doherty was arrested in Palm Beach County and charged with violating the terms of his pre-trial release.
The county's sheriff's office said Doherty, who is fitted with an electronic ankle monitor, was not supposed to leave his house but according to the monitor he did, for 17 minutes, without consent.
Doherty is accused of drugging several young boys and then sexually assaulting them after they passed out.
For a time Doherty was a pastor at St. Vincent Catholic Church in Ft. Lauderdale, but the Archdiocese of Miami stripped him of his priestly duties in 2002.
