A Lutheran church pastor in Reading resigned after a woman accused him of engaging in sexual misconduct in Allentown nearly three decades ago.

The Rev. Steven Belinski resigned Oct. 21 from Grace Lutheran Church, according to the Northeastern Pennsylvania Synod. He had been pastor there since 1983, following a stint at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Allentown.

According to a synod statement, a woman who doesn't belong to the Grace congregation said Belinski engaged in a sexual relationship with her when she came to him for pastoral care in the early 1980s.
