The carnal abuse trial of Jamaican-born international evangelist Reverend Dr. Paul Lewis was delayed today because one of the jurors failed to return to court after the lunch break.

The juror was among seven people who were empanelled in the Westmoreland Circuit Court this afternoon to hear the case against the international evangelist.

The case is expected to resume tomorrow.

Lewis who is on bail is before the Circuit Court on one count of carnal abuse and one count of indecent assault.

The matter was transferred from the Sav-la-mar Resident Magistrate's Court to the Circuit Court on September 10.

It's reported that on June 14 last year, the pastor had sex with a 15 year old girl and kissed and fondled a 14 year old girl.

The incident allegedly happened in his hotel room in Negril.

A report was later made to the police and Reverend Lewis was charged with the carnal abuse of the 15-year-old girl and indecent assault involving the 14-year-old.

Reverend Lewis is to reappear in the Savanna-la-mar RM court on Thursday to answer to two counts of perverting the course of justice.

The crown is alleging that the pastor had called a woman and asked her to pay money to the two teenagers with whom he's alleged to have had sexual encounters.

It's further alleged that Reverend Lewis instructed the woman to do everything possible to make the case go away.
